A salary sacrifice scheme allows you to sacrifice a portion of your gross salary (before Tax and NI) and use it to pay for a range of benefits, in this case a computer. Because you are using a portion of your salary before you pay Tax and National Insurance you are effectively paying for the goods out of your gross salary and "saving" the Tax and NI that would normally be deducted.
